AIRC MEMBERSHIP PATHWAY GRANT

Purpose
The Membership Pathway Grant reflects AIRC’s commitment to diversifying its member community by making membership more accessible to less-resourced institutions and organizations. Grant awards are intended to assist institutions and organizations by providing a bridge to membership in AIRC. AIRC anticipates that many grant awardees will be able to sustain membership in AIRC in the future without a Membership Pathway Grant.

Eligibility
Grants are open to all accredited institutions and educational agencies that meet the requirements for AIRC membership. Individual members and Service Provider Affiliates are not eligible for Pathway Grants.

New Institutional Members
Accredited educational institutions
that sign up for AIRC membership may submit a grant application at the time of membership application. For the grant application to be considered, a membership application must be submitted simultaneously. Contact Staff@airc-education.org for more information.

Renewing Institutional Members
AIRC members must apply during the membership renewal period.

New Applicants for AIRC Certification
Educational Agencies
that apply for AIRC Certification may submit a grant application at the time of agency application for Certification. The grant will only apply towards the Certification fee and not towards the application fee for Certification. The $2000 application fee is required to initiate an application for Certification. For the grant application to be considered, it must be submitted along with the application for Certification. The applicant will be informed of the decision about the grant at the time for Certification is approved or not. Read more about Agency Certification and eligibility here.

Renewing AIRC Certified Agency Members
Renewing AIRC Certified agency members must apply for the grant during the membership renewal period.

Selection
Since a limited amount of funding is available, application early in the membership year is recommended. Successful grant applicants will be able to demonstrate: 1) financial need; 2) the value that AIRC membership will provide to their organization; 3) how the organization plans to sustain AIRC membership in the future. Priority will be given to institutions and organizations with demonstrated need, including but not limited to Minority Serving Institutions and international organizations located in countries classified as middle- or low-income economies.

Grant Awards

Grant awards will be considered for either 20% or 40% of the membership fee or certification fee. Grants are applied to institutional membership fees, AIRC Certified Agency membership fees or the Certification fee as part of the AIRC Certification process for educational agencies. If selected, grant recipients will not be eligible to receive a prorated membership fee if they join outside of the membership renewal period.

The term of the grant award is normally one year. Membership fee awardees may apply on a year-to-year basis up to a maximum of three years.
