AIRC Offers Four Membership Categories

1. Institutional - Open to U.S. accredited post-secondary institutions, provided that the accreditor is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or the U.S. Department of Education.

2. Agency - Open to recruiting agencies having successfully achieved AIRC Certification by demonstrating compliance with AIRC Standards. AIRC’s Certified Process and Standards Manual provides detailed information about the certification process, standards, and policies.

3. Pathway Programs - Open to organizations providing or organizing credit bearing post-secondary academic pathway programs for international students through contractual arrangements with U.S. post-secondary accredited institutions.

Eligible Pathway Programs may only use agent networks for recruitment into their own programs, and to those of their pathway partners following a student’s successful completion of a pathway program.

4. Affiliated Institutional Membership - Open to U.S. accredited secondary schools or secondary/ post secondary institutions based outside the U.S., which have been reviewed by a recognized national or international quality assurance system. 

An Affiliated Institutional Member may not also function as a recruitment agency or directly own or operate a recruitment agency. (For the purposes of AIRC membership and certification, an agency is defined as an organization, company or association that recruits and places students into accredited colleges, universities, and other educational institutions on a commercial 'fee for service' basis.)
