Dr. Nancy L Zimpher, Chancellor of SUNY
Dr. Nancy L Zimpher is Chancellor of the State University of New York (SUNY) system. Prior to coming to SUNY, as President of the University of Cincinnati, Dr. Zimpher closely monitored that university’s move toward agency-based recruitment. Chancellor Zimpher is highly engaged on the national and regional level and is committed to an active role as a thought-leader in the 21st century. She chairs a national network of presidents called the Coalition of Urban Serving Universities (USU), she is a past chair of the Board of Directors for the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), formerly known as NASULGC, the nation’s primary alliance of public universities. In November 2007, she represented urban universities at the launch of the Blueprint for American Prosperity at the Brookings Institution. In addition, she serves on the national board for the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education (FIPSE). A past president of a national education reform network, The Holmes Partnership, she has previously served on the Executive Board of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education and the AACTE, on the board of the American Council on Education (ACE), as chair of the APLU Commission on International Programs and as Project Director for a U.S. Department of Education Teacher Quality Grant.
Masaru Yamada, JAOS & FELCA
Masaru Yamada founded Tokyo-based ICS international student recruitment agency in 1970, and over the course of his time with the company sent 100,000 students from Japan for overseas study. A major advocate for industry standards for international student recruitment, he is the Chairman and former President of the Japan Association of Overseas Study (JAOS). Mr. Yamada also co-founded the Federation of Education and Language Consultant Associations (FELCA), a world federation of national associations of recruitment agencies, of which he is currently President. Masaru Yamada has attended NAFSA for the last 30 consecutive years.
Roberta Freedman, Clark Hill PLC
Roberta Freedman is among America's leading immigration attorneys, with over 25 years of exerperience. Based in Washington DC, she co-chairs Clark Hill’s Immigration Practice Group, concentrating her efforts on immigration and
nationality law. Ms Freedman represents physicians, healthcare providers,
business professionals, professors and researchers, and
Fortune 500 corporations. She has been selected by the US Citizenship
and Immigration Services (CIS) to lead high-profile joint CIS-private
sector projects.
Ms. Freedman is an active member of the American
Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and is the past Chair of the
Washington, D.C. Chapter and past Director of the Board of Governors
and has been appointed to serve and chair on a number of AILA national
committees. She is a former member of the Coordinating Committee on
Immigration Law of the American Bar Association. Her expertise has been recognized by Super Lawyers for Immigration (2008), International Who's Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers (2008), Best Lawyers in America (2006-2009) and DC's Best Lawyers (2004-2009).
Dr. Lynne H. Rosansky, SIT/World Learning
Dr. Rosansky is currently the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at SIT/World Learning, a global organization that delivers education, training, and exchange programs to high school student participating in "The Experiment in International Living;" to undergraduate students in SIT Study Abroad and to Masters degree students at the SIT Graduate Institute. Dr. Rosansky's career in higher education has included a decade of service at Hult International Business School (formerly the Arthur D. Little School of Management) where she was Dean and then President. While at Arthur D. Little, she was a member of the founding team for the Human Resources consulting division and delivered competency-based performance management systems for the IRS, the Polaroid Company, Arthur D. Little's Finance group, and the US Postal Service. She has served as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at SUNY's Levin Institute, responsible for academic programs; faculty management; strategic relationship building and business development. She proposed, launched and directed the FastTracNYC and the JumpStartNYC programs. Over the course of her career, Dr. Rosansky has served on the faculties of Babson College, Brandeis University Graduate School for International Economics & Finance, Simmons Graduate School of Management, and the International University of Japan. Dr. Rosansky earned her Ph.D. and M.A. from Boston University and holds an MBA from Babson College. Her BA is from Carnegie-Mellon University.
