Agency Application Form
Application Form for AIRC Certification and Re-certification
AIRC Certification is intended for agencies (including organizations and companies) located both inside and outside of the United States which recruit international students to colleges, universities and other postsecondary educational institutions located both inside and outside of the United States which are accredited by institutional accreditors recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. These agencies are expected to have been either recruiting international students for at least two (2) years at the time of applying for AIRC Certification, or have been in the business of providing related marketing, programmatic or related services to U.S. post-secondary educational institutions for a period of ten years.
Representatives of agencies considering applying for AIRC certification should first review the AIRC Certification Process and Standards Manual. This can be downloaded here. Only agencies passing successfully through the certification process may become AIRC members and claim certification status. Applicants should anticipate that the certification process will take six to nine months to complete.
A non-refundable APPLICATION fee of US $2,000.00 is due upon submission of this application. Appllicant agencies, their owners, and senior staff will be subject to a third party due diligence review. The AIRC Board will review the application and due diligence reports. Based on the information contained in those documents the board will vote on admitting applicant agencies to candidacy. Agencies not admitted to candidacy will not receive a refund of the application fee.
In addition to completing the application you are required to submit a signed letter of intent from the CEO of your agency. This letter should state the rationale for the agency's interest in AIRC certification, document that he or she has read the AIRC standards and acknowledges them, and clearly state the agency's interest in seeking certification.
Once your agency becomes a candidate you will be assessed a non-refundable CERTIFICATION fee based on the fee schedule here. Candidate agencies will also undergo a one day external site review of one or more of their offices and will be expected to pay the travel costs of the site reviewer from the United States. For the external review day, the key leadership of your agency's offices will need to be present at the headquarters office. In addition, you will be expected to have in attendance at least one person each from each branch office if you have 2-4 offices; or 25% of your branch offices represented with a minimum of 5 representatives if you have 5 or more offices.
During the candidacy process AIRC will also post a call on its website for public comments regarding your agency’s compliance with the AIRC standards. Responses will remain confidential within the certification process.
Read all instructions carefully. We recommend that this application form be printed out, and all relevant information be collected prior to completing it online. Please attach the letter of intent, and any supplemental documents, using the upload feature at the end of this form.
